Josip Juranovic: Celtic start negotiations with Legia Warsaw over Croatian right-back

Celtic have started negotiations on a deal to sign Legia Warsaw right-back Josip Juranovic.

The Scottish Premiership team are confident they will secure a deal for the Croatia international, after a final attempt to land Manchester City’s Yan Couto failed.

Sky Sports News exclusively revealed last Thursday that Couto will be Parkhead’s guest of honor to attend their Europa League qualifier, as the club try to persuade him to join him on loan.

The Brazilian is still not convinced and is also being pursued by Braga, so Celtic have now turned their attention to Juranovic – and Legia is ready to listen to his opening offer.

The Croatia international is valued at around £ 2.5million (€ 3million) and is keen to move to Glasgow to join the side of Ange Postecoglou, who will face AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League play-offs on Wednesday .

Legia was also knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Dinamo Zagreb last week, meaning they may have to sell Juranovic to raise the funds they lack.
