Israel puts US, Italy, France and Greece under severe travel warning – .

Israel has placed the United States, France, Italy, France, Germany, Greece and several other countries under severe travel warning, the Labor, Welfare and Committee approved Tuesday afternoon. Health Ministry of the Knesset following the recommendation of the Ministry of Health.

Starting Friday, all travelers entering Israel from those countries will be required to self-isolate for at least seven days, even if they are fully vaccinated or recovered.

The full list of nations that have been approved to be added to the list includes Ukraine, Italy, Iceland, Eswatini, United States, Botswana, Bulgaria, Germany, Netherlands, Tanzania, Greece, Malawi, Egypt, Czech Republic, France, Cuba, Rwanda and Tunisia.

The list of countries with a severe travel warning – or orange in color – currently includes Cambodia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Fiji, Georgia, Great Britain, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, Liberia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Seychelles, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

However, according to the recommendation, Seychelles, Zambia, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Uganda, Liberia, Panama and Kenya will be removed from the list.

Israelis are allowed to travel to Orange Countries, but they must be quarantined on their return – for 14 days, which can be shortened to seven with two negative PCR tests.

Countries considered most at risk – or red – are placed under a travel ban.

Israelis are prohibited from visiting these countries unless they obtain permission from the Government Committee of Exceptions.

The list currently includes Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Cyprus, Georgia, Great Britain, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Russia, Spain, South Africa, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

Currently, Israel determines a country’s status based on a combination of the local level of morbidity and coronavirus trends on the one hand, and the number of infected inbound travelers from that nation entering Israel on the other. The rate of infected among travelers is also taken into account.

According to data presented by the Health Ministry at the committee meeting, some 57,025 passengers arrived in Israel from the United States last month. Of these, some 141 were infected with the virus, or 0.25%.

Some 11,065 people have traveled to Israel from Italy in the past month, and 0.24% of them have been infected – 27 travelers. Italy currently has a weekly average of 67 cases per million people, 181 active cases per million people according to the ICL model and 95 according to the IHME model.
