Makai Lemon, a five-star athlete and the 33rd overall player in the 2023 class, announced live on CBS Sports HQ on Saturday that he would continue his football career in Oklahoma. Lemon picked the Sooners over the other finalists USC, Alabama, Arizona and Arizona State.

He has 100 catches for 1,540 yards and 14 offensive touchdowns, and caught eight passes and 40 total tackles on the defensive end of the ball in two seasons of practice.

Greg Biggins, National Recruitment Analyst for 247Sports, provided this scouting report on Lemon.

“Lemon is a really good looking young player with a ton of advantages,” Biggins wrote. “He’s an athletic frame with some growth potential and should have no problem filling in and adding some good weight on the road. He’s a nervous two-way athlete who shows the elite advantage as a receiver or cornerback. He has good shortcourt speed, change of direction, runs well after the catch and is a natural wide receiver. It has excellent body control and a smooth, natural feel to the position. In the corner, he is a tough kid who can run, play games on the field and is a physical support in the race. He works hard off the field and has all the tools to project himself as a Power 5 starter and future top-tier NFL Draft pick. “

Lemon is the third player to enter Lincoln Riley’s 2023 recruiting class. These three prospects are ranked in the top 100 of the 247Sports team’s current recruiting rankings.
