EDMONTON – Voted by the public, the toilets at the Borden Park Pavilion were announced as the best toilets in Canada in a competition organized by Cintas Canada.

The annual competition started 12 years ago with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of toilet hygiene and its impact on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty, said Chris Szafran, Market Sales Manager for Cintas.

The Edmonton washroom was chosen from five finalists. The nominees for “Best Toilet” were judged on cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and the unique design element.

“After receiving thousands of votes across the country, we are happy to announce this year’s winner is Borden Park,” said Szafran.

Designed by gh3, the structure of the toilet is made of wood, concrete and glass selected for their durability, permanence and timelessness, said the director. The sleek bathroom includes hands-free units and a stainless steel sink.

Best Toilets in Canada “This is getting a lot of attention and a fun competition across Canada for cities that received the Best Toilets award,” said Fraser.

“In addition to having safe and clean toilets to use, the pandemic has made us understand the importance of having access to toilets in parks and open spaces so that citizens as well as vulnerable populations can continue to access them. She added.
