Danny DeVito on Wednesday expressed his support for boycotting Nabisco products as employees of three of the snack company’s bakeries on strike over failed contract negotiations.
“Support striking Nabisco workers for humane working hours, fair wages, job outsourcing. NO CONTRACTS NO SNACKS, ”DeVito tweeted.

In the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, is one of the most prominent supporters of a weeklong strike at several factories in Nabisco.

Workers affiliated with the international union BCTGM at the Nabisco factories in Portland, Oregon; Richmond, Virginia; and Aurora, Colorado, quit work after the union was unable to secure a new contract with Mondelēz International Inc., which owns the company behind Oreos and Ritz Crackers.

The strikers say Mondelēz has proposed unacceptable changes to wages and health benefits and has not sufficiently addressed concerns about the outsourcing of jobs to Mexico. The Nabsico strike is one of many among the workers who are responsible for grocery staples and have faces considerable risks and intense demand during pandemic lockdowns.

Mondelēz said in a statement Monday that he was “disappointed” with the decision to strike and wanted “to negotiate in good faith with the management of the BCTGM at our bakeries and retail distribution facilities in the United States. to enter into new contracts that continue to provide our employees with good salaries and competitive benefits.

DeVito’s support gives the strike a noticeable, albeit slightly ironic boost; the iconic actor is beloved for his portrayal of Frank Reynolds – a con artist who has made millions in part by operating sweatshops – in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”.
