Cristiano Ronaldo: Juventus forward tells club he wants to leave amid Man City ties

Cristiano Ronaldo, through his agent Jorge Mendes, told Juventus he no longer wants to play for the club, according to Sky in Italy.

Sky in Italy report that City have been offered the opportunity to sign Ronaldo and are set to offer him a two-year contract, with a salary of £ 12.8million per season (€ 15million).

The Turin club are bracing for an offer from Manchester City, who would rather sign him for free, but Juve want at least £ 25million for the Portuguese captain.

A meeting between Mendes and the hierarchy of Juventus, which took place Thursday in Turin, ended without agreement on an exit from the club for his client.

While it is understood that Ronaldo was keen to leave, it is believed to be the first time the 36-year-old has communicated his desire to leave directly.

Juventus, who want to sell Ronaldo before his contract expires next summer, have already started looking for a replacement striker.

Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid in 2018 for around £ 105million and he scored 101 goals in 134 games for the club, helping them win two Serie A titles, a Coppa crown Italia and two Italian Super Cups.

He was placed on the bench by Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri for his first game of the season against Udinese, and also left training on Wednesday with an arm injury.
