All new Lancashire Covid cases by area as Blackpool remains a hotspot – .


Nearly 700 more cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Lancashire in the past 24 hours.
The latest figures released this afternoon reveal that an additional 695 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the county, with increases in each borough.

Blackpool remains Lancashire’s Covid hotspot with 99 new cases, followed by Chorley with 68.

Rossendale recorded the smallest increase with just 13 new cases.

The government said 133 more people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 on Saturday, bringing the UK total to 132,376.

Separate figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that there have been 156,000 registered deaths in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

At 9 a.m. on Saturday, there had been 32,406 more laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK, the government said.
