Le Barn, Bonnelles, Ile-de-France
Less than an hour from Paris is Le Barn, a sort of French Soho farmhouse for stressed city dwellers. The hotel is located on a hiking area in the Rambouillet forest and is scattered between several buildings – the main restaurant Serre serves local produce in a sunny veranda, while the spa is housed in a former flour mill. The simple rooms, set in tall wooden barns, all have a balcony with views of the surrounding countryside. Bikes can be borrowed to explore the grounds or you can spend the time playing pétanque, badminton or volleyball.
