A policeman and his three-year-old son who were found dead after returning from vacation were part of a “typical happy family”, according to neighbors.

David Louden and his three-year-old son, who were found dead at their home in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, had just returned early from a family holiday.

A neighbor said Mr Louden, 39, had left with his wife Samantha, their son Harrison and another relative – but the trip was cut short.

It seems that only the father and the son returned home.

Concerns for their safety led police to find the bodies at the sister property on Cairndhu Drive shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

A neighbor told The Times: “They just seemed like a typical happy family. Dave would say ‘hello’ to my husband when he was in the garden and we would see him get into his car to go to work. ‘

Another said Louden would wave to her as she walked the dog, adding: “They looked like a typical family keeping themselves to themselves. It’s heartbreaking but no one knows what happened.

A neighbor said: “Samantha came home and took out a few bags of personal belongings. She was there with a family friend and they spent several hours in the house before leaving.

A neighbor said David Louden, 39, had gone on vacation with his wife Samantha, their son Harrison and another relative, but the trip was cut short.

“The couple haven’t lived in the house for a long time, but I understand they have another child, so she was probably picking up some clothes and toys.

“It must have been horrible for her to walk into the house where her husband and son were found. I can’t imagine the pain they are going through.

Door-to-door police investigations focused on events inside the house the night before.

West Mercia Police have not released any further details about the deaths of the father and son and have so far called the two deaths “unexplained”. It is not known if post-mortem examinations have been performed yet.

Police named the deceased officer and his son on Sunday and released a family photo with a tribute. Ms Louden, who is also a police officer, and their extended family said in a statement: ‘David was a kind, loving, considerate and extraordinary father, husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague. . Harrison was a happy and beloved little boy. They will both be missed and loved forever.
