Sonya Deville took to the ring on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown to announce the latest participant in the Women’s Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match. In a shocking surprise, this participant was none other than Zelina Vega.

Vega walked into the ring, much to the ThunderDome’s surprise, and said she plans to win the match and take her opportunity to become the Women’s Champion on one of the three WWE brands. However, the duo were quickly interrupted by Liv Morgan, who furiously descended into the ring and asked why Vega had an opportunity in her place.

Vega said she had wrestled for years and was one of the most popular female contestants in WWE history, but that response only made Morgan even angrier. Morgan then challenged her to a match on the spot. After Deville gave him the green light, the two contestants clashed and Morgan walked away with the unexpected victory after quickly rolling Vega for the hairpin.

WWE released Vega in November 2020, but she was spotted at the company’s Performance Center in May, with so many fans speculating on her potential return.

While Morgan has yet to secure a spot in the Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match, Vega now joins a star group that includes Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Carmella and two currently undecided entrants.
