Greece’s rising infection rate could mean it remains on the Amber List in the next travel review.
The popular vacation hotspot is seeing an increase in covid rates, which is 87% of its peak in early April.

There are currently 2,667 new cases per day in Greece, which should be of concern to the government when it examines its latest travel review on Thursday August 5.

The country’s vaccination rate stands at 47.8%, which the government will also take into account.

If cases continue to rise, Greece could be transferred to the government’s Amber List Plus, which requires a 10-day quarantine for anyone returning from the country.

Amber list rules mean people who have received two coronavirus vaccines do not have to self-quarantine when they return.

Anyone traveling to Greece must complete a passenger tracking form the day before their arrival.

They also need proof of a negative Covid PCR test or negative rapid antigen test, done within 48 hours of travel.

Alternatively, they need proof of being fully vaccinated at least 14 days before travel.

Greece will also accept proof of recovery from Covid-19, proof of a positive Covid-19 PCR test taken between 30 and 180 days before travel dates can be used.
