WhatsApp bans 2 million accounts for breaking new rules, don’t be next – .

The app has already mass-banned users. WhatsApp said it uses AI technology to block around eight million accounts worldwide each month.
It uses information such as profile and group photos and descriptions as well as “behavioral cues” from accounts to decide who to ban.

Reports submitted by other users have also been used to help catch rogue accounts.

WhatsApp said in a statement, “We are particularly focused on prevention because we believe that it is much better to prevent harmful activities from happening in the first place than to detect them after harm has occurred. Abuse detection operates at three stages of an account’s lifestyle: upon registration; during messaging; and in response to negative feedback, which we receive in the form of user and block reports.
