“Now a little bit of recovery,” Arteta said. “We’ve trained really hard, played two games and now we’re going to travel to America next week.
We didn’t have any injuries, which is really positive the first week.
“We’re probably going to have new faces, so very positive. “
Tavares marked his Arsenal debut with one goal, having joined the club from Benfica, and Arteta was delighted with how the full-back has settled into the squad.
“He’s only been with us for a few days, but you can already see his qualities, his physique and the quality of his ball,” said Arteta. “He fits in really well with the guys so it’s a good start.
Tavares will have the chance to impress again when Arsenal take on Serie A champions Inter Milan in the Florida Cup next weekend.
