The official first day of training camp is in the books of the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, the team has decided to no longer give login credentials to bloggers or fan sites this year. number of workouts from the seats, and it will introduce you to some of the highlights of those workouts.
But, for now, we kind of just have to observe other people’s observations, so that’s what we’re going to do.
An interesting tidbit from the team’s official website was that third-year offensive lineman Oli Udoh was taking shots from the first team to the right guard when practice began today. He ended up dividing the shots there with. . .audible sigh. . .Dakota Dozier. But, Udoh was there first, and it’s worth noting that Dozier got all the first-team shots in OTAs and so on, so it’s an interesting development.
Christian Darrisaw continues to sit with a groin problem, so the Vikings’ first team offensive line (right to left) was Rashod Hill, Ezra Cleveland, Garrett Bradbury, Udoh and Brian O’Neill. The second team were Blake Brandel, Dru Samia, Mason Cole, Wyatt Davis and Evin Ksiezarczyk.
The game of the day, by most accounts, was a pair of rookies shaking things up. Kellen Mond found Ihmir Smith-Marsette for a long touchdown pass. Most accounts said Mond had a pretty tough day outside of this pitch, but it’s still a pretty nice play.
There was even a Skol Chant that was heard at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center on Wednesday afternoon.
