Twitter closes SF and New York offices as Delta variant spreads – .

Twitter closed its San Francisco and New York offices just two weeks after reopening them as cases of the virus mount.

“After careful consideration of the updated CDC guidelines, and in light of current conditions, Twitter has made a decision to close our open offices in New York and San Francisco as well as to suspend future office reopening, effective immediately. The company said.

The shutdown is a blow to San Francisco’s nascent economic recovery and another sign of disrupting the tech industry’s return to work. Google and Apple are also delaying mandatory returns to the office until at least October. Google and Facebook will require vaccination of employees.
