TOWIE bosses have reportedly removed at least 10 cast members as the show goes through its biggest upheaval.
According to The Sun, the producers informed several stars of the series on Wednesday that they would not be returning for the 29th series.
A statement posted on TOWIE’s official social media accounts confirmed the slaughter, saying they wanted the show to focus on a “smaller group.”

An insider said the move was down to bosses wanting to get back to basics with show veteran Chloe Sims and her sisters Demi and Frankie as well as Liam ‘Gatsby’ Blackwell all believed they survived the showdown.
A source said: “With a constantly growing cast of characters, it was becoming difficult to give audiences a real glimpse into the lives of those involved.
“The producers want the show to go back to what it was when it started out, where audiences have seen a lot more of each character’s story and what they’re doing.
“The bigger the cast, the less time everyone spends on screen. They want to turn the tide and give less and more.

A statement read: ‘While we wait for future series’ to come, the next installment of our BAFTA award-winning show returns to Essex to follow a smaller group of cast members.
The most recent series of the reality show had up to 47 cast members in various roles.
In a statement, the bosses confirmed that the stars leaving the program will provide the team’s backstage support if they need it.
They said, “After more than ten fabulous years following the lives of our ever-growing cast, TOWIE will evolve with some changes.
“As he contemplates future series” to come, the next installment of our BAFTA-winning show returns to Essex to follow a smaller group of cast members.

“This change gives our actors more time to film their real lives, showing more of their passions and personal professions, as well as their strong bonds and dynamics with their family and friends.
