The incident sparked an uproar between the two groups of players, with Alegre and Rossi continuing to insult each other before the latter was taken away by his teammates.

It seemed completely out of sync with the buzzer’s emotions, as the two teams appeared to be on good terms, despite the Spanish linguistic rivalry, with Argentina sportingly helping Alegre’s fatigue.
But Rossi was furious until he returned to the locker room, and officials on both sides tried to calm him down.
