The war of tomorrow, the time-traveling sci-fi film starring Chris Pratt, already has a sequel in the works, according to a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter.

The outlet says director Chris McKay is expected to return for The war of tomorrow sequel, with screenwriter Zach Dean and much of the original cast, which includes Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, JK Simmons, Betty Gilpin and Sam Richardson. Skydance and Amazon will once again be behind the project, with the first film launching on Amazon Prime Video last week.
In The war of tomorrow, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: thirty years in the future, humanity is losing a world war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for the soldiers and civilians of the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and her ex-father (JK Simmons) on a desperate quest to rewrite the planet’s fate.
Directed by Chris McKay and written by Zach Dean, the film also stars JK Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Keith Powers.
