Savage has committed to playing hockey with Miami in the NCAA this coming season. He had a pretty good year statistically, and also wore the “C” for the United States team at WJC-18.
Besides having a really cool name that would go well with the BSD broadcast, Red Savage is your NHLer-like prototype of the last six if all goes well. He is one of those specialized penalty-type players according to many screening services.
There is a certain fearlessness to his game, playing physically, driving and really getting involved all over the ice. Offensively, in front of the net, he is very competitive. Does well to gain body and stick position, and at the same time is able to find second chances. Also shows his nose towards the net during the rush, frequently pushing defenders back on their heels. When he has possession, he’s creative while being smart with the puck. -Future Considerations 2021 NHL Draft Guide
