The father of a baby killed in Ardoyne thanks the community for its support during the vigil in his memory – .


The father of two-month-old Liam O’Keefe, who was killed in Ardoyne on Tuesday, said he was “really heartbroken” as he thanked the local community for their support.
Speaking at an infant vigil on Thursday, Liam O’Keefe Snr gave a moving speech as the community gathered with blue balloons to mourn the child’s death.

Addressing the large group of neighbors and the close-knit community of Ardyone, Mr. O’Keefe expressed his gratitude for the love and support he has received in recent days.

He said: “To all the neighbors and the whole community for all their help and support, I really appreciate it all.

“Holding this vigil means the world to me. I am truly heartbroken, but it gives me the strength to know that you all give so much love and support.

” Thank you from the heart. ”

Prayers were also offered by a local priest outside the property in Brompton Park for Liam and the other child who is currently in hospital and who PSNI has described as being in stable condition.

Chief Detective Inspector Millar said: “A 29-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder has now been released from hospital and taken into custody for questioning.

“The other young child injured in this incident remains in hospital where her condition is described as stable.

“I would like to thank the local community for their continued support and patience as we continue our investigation into the tragic events of Tuesday evening and continue to ask anyone with information to contact us on 101 citing the reference number. 1787 of 27 / 21/07. “
