Tampa Bay passes Montreal and pulls away from Stanley Cup win – .

The Tampa Bay Lightning are just one game away from easily defeating the Montreal Canadiens 6-3 in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. The Canadians had the advantage on the ice at home, but have always looked a stone’s throw from the defending champions in loss.

The Lightning now leads the series 3-0 and has the opportunity to lift the Stanley Cup with a victory in Game 4, which will take place on Monday, July 5 at the Bell Center.

The entire Lightning series looked better prepared for the game and tonight was no different. Tampa Bay came out strong with two goals in the first period and would never lag in the game.

Montreal is chasing its first Stanley Cup title since 1993, but the underdogs’ chances don’t look good after losing three games in the series 197 times in NHL history a best-of-seven series has seen a team lose 3-0 and only four times a team has come back to win.

Between the championship wins for the Lightning and the Buccaneers, the Tampa Bay area has apparently entered a new golden age for its sports teams. And once again, the Tampa Bay Lightning has a good chance of standing out from the rest of the National Hockey League and lifting the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row.
