Oti Mabuse hit back at critics claiming that she was only on Strictly Come Dancing because of the ticking of the boxes.
The dancer, 30, told the Mirror that she is more than her critics have called her, after wowing viewers with her incredible dance moves.
Oti also revealed that people told her she only got the job on the show because she met a quota, not because of her talent, and insisted she was done with it. the label “the shiny black girl”.

Oti said there was an issue with the checkboxes in the UK and allowed people to make such comments about him.
She said, “They like to go: ‘You tick a box. You’re right here because you’re black, you’re right here because you’re African, you’re right here because you’re a black woman, or you’re just here because you’re a gay black man. ”
She continued, “Sometimes I get a job or an opportunity and I’m like, I don’t want to be the bright black girl in this situation. You go, ‘well, looks like you didn’t have me’ (to mind). ‘

The claims come two years after dancer Louie Spence criticized the bosses of Strictly when they hired Oti’s sister, Motsi, to be a judge on the show, claiming she was “nobody.”
Oti hit back at these comments on his Rhythm of Life podcast.
She continued that because she came to Britain from South Africa with herself, a plane ticket and a 20kg suitcase, she must have thick skin.
The Strictly star has also faced challenges within her relationship, where she has faced backlash in her homeland for being part of a multiracial couple.
The claims come two years after dancer Louie Spence similarly slammed Strictly bosses when they hired Oti’s sister Motsi (pictured) to be a judge on the show.
