The 20-year-old was finally confirmed as a Spurs player earlier this week as part of a deal that also sees Erik Lamela moving to Spain after eight years in north London.
Gil comes to the club with a high reputation developed in La Liga. He had become one of the most beloved young talents in Spain’s elite after making his appearance in Andalusia before being loaned to Eibar.
By this time, the youngster had gathered many admirers, including the former Barcelona man and the current head coach of the Spanish national team Luis Enrique.
After giving Gil his international debut, he said: “I like him a lot. From the first interview I had with him, I saw him as very mature and very calm.
“I will now find out in football terms. “
Sevilla football director Monchi also praised the youngster’s talents after seeing him up close at Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Prior to his transfer to Spurs, he had previously insisted that he considered Gil to become a vital player for the Spanish giants.
Speaking in February, he said: “As the coach said the other day, Bryan will obviously be an important player in Sevilla’s future.
“I’m not surprised by what he’s doing. Bryan has a lot of quality and I think he continues to grow. “
Given these credentials, Spurs will certainly be delighted to have managed to secure a player of such quality.
The winger signed a five-year long-term contract with the Spurs after following Pierluigi Gollini through the door.
