NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – As coronavirus cases continue to rise across the country, New York City continues to reopen. Today marks the return of Restaurant Week. And the city’s wedding offices are reopening too!
Junior’s Cheesecake in Brooklyn is one of many restaurants looking for a boost with the city’s first real restaurant week in two years. Deal week actually lasts five weeks. Diners can eat at some of the best restaurants in town at discounted rates.

And unlike last year, this year you can actually eat there.

It is a huge relief for this struggling industry.

“Coming back slowly is great,” said Andy D’Amico, associate chef in Marseille. “Restaurant week is generally a very successful time of year for us. “
And here’s an added bonus: after lunch you can start planning your wedding!

Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that the New York City Marriage Bureau in Lower Manhattan is reopening for the in-person nuptials starting Friday.

You can make an appointment today.

This is all due to our relatively high vaccination rates and a COVID count that continues to remain low.

Over the weekend in the city, only 44 people were in intensive care units in the area undergoing treatment for the coronavirus.
