With most of the news regarding Raphael Varane’s potential transfer to Manchester United coming from Spain, it’s always nice to see him confirmed in France.

This time, it is the journalist of TF1 Julien Maynard who takes stock, specifying that there is now an “agreement in principle” between the player and the Red Devils concerning a contract.

Now all that needs to happen is for Manchester United and Real Madrid to “strike a deal” on the transfer fee to get the deal done.

As has been said time and time again, Varane “would like to experience the Premier League but will not go to war” with the La Liga giants to make his wish come true.

The France international has now entered the final year of his contract, so it’s in Real Madrid’s best interests to come to some sort of deal with Manchester United as they could otherwise lose him next year.

This is something Florentino Pérez will want to avoid, which means that unless there is a huge gap between the two sides, it should be done.
