Paratici contact for Tottenham signing receives boost – club in rush to negotiate deal – .

Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanić struggled for minutes last season and is unhappy with the lack of consistent opportunities he had in his first Camp Nou campaign.

His situation has drawn the attention of other clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.

Italian sports clubs are keen to sign the 31-year-old this summer, but Spurs have shown interest in him in recent days.

In the past few hours, the north London club, through their new football managing director Fabio Paratici, have “asked” to take the ex-Juventus man on loan.

The La Liga side want to get rid of the Bosnian international as he is not included in Ronald Koeman’s plans next season. This is also reported in today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo.

Although Mundo does not mention Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad or any other club, they do say “there is an emergency” in Barcelona to get rid of Pjanić and Samuel Umtiti.

The Spanish giants want to see the backs of some players so they can lower their salary budget.

Pjanić is on that list and with Koeman no longer counting on him, the Bosnian assumed he “must go”.

His priority is to return to Juve, but if they don’t take action to sign him, the player will look for other destinations, including the Premier League.

It would be good for any Tottenham interests.
