Paige VanZant issues brief statement following BKFC 19 loss – .

Paige VanZant addressed her loss at BKFC 19 to Rachael Ostovich with a simple statement on social media on Friday night.
After the scores were read and the winner of her Friday main event fight turned out to be her opponent, VanZant walked out of the ring, clearly upset with the outcome of the fight.

After a fierce five-round battle with Ostovich, the former UFC straw and flyweight contender found herself on the wrong side of the judge’s scoreboards for the second consecutive time in a bare-handed competition.

VanZant did not attend the post-fight press conference to address the media. Instead, she offered a short photo post on Instagram after the fight.

The image says, “I’m going to get up. I will always get up. Don’t even doubt it for a second. VanZant didn’t offer any additional captions, leaving the post short but simple to speak for itself.

VanZant dove into the world of hand-to-hand boxing earlier this year, taking on Britain Hart in BKFC’s main event: Knuckle Mania in February. Hart, who enjoyed a victorious exit Friday night against Jenny Clausius, defeated VanZant by unanimous decision.

Now winless in his two main BKFC events, VanZant’s future is unclear. Although she was competitive on both outings, her opponents managed to beat her to the fist and win the favor of the judges.

Coincidentally, VanZant’s last victory in a combat sports competition was against Ostovich at the UFC on ESPN + 1 in January 2019.

Judging by his pre-fight comments and post-fight social media post, VanZant is probably not done with combat sports.
