Daniel E. Rosselot, 36, of Maysville, Ky., Has been charged with aiding and abetting murder, two counts of aiding and abetting unlawful first-degree imprisonment and aiding and abetting a corpse and aiding in tampering with physical evidence.

Jeremy Lind and his girlfriend, who have not been named, were kidnapped at gunpoint on September 27, 2020, by a group of suspects, and forced to strip and eat dog food, reported on Louisville Mail Journal.

They pulled out Lind’s tongue, wrapped it in foil and stuffed it in her mouth, resulting in Lind’s death from suffocation, police said.

Police added that Lind’s girlfriend was forced to monitor and clean up her blood.

She escaped later that day and, according to a police report, she feared she would be killed or sold as part of human trafficking.

Lind’s body was found a few days later in an alleyway.

Rosselot’s arrest quote says he confessed to being at the property while Lind and his girlfriend were “unlawfully detained against their will,” the newspaper reported. He also admitted in the quote that he “hit (Lind) several times with a gun” before he died, and that he and an unidentified co-accused tied Lind’s hands and feet up before wrapping his body in tarps.

Charges against another suspect, Robert Lee Smothers, were dropped in March.
