Up to 14 people who recovered from Covid at a Delhi hospital have since been diagnosed with multiple liver abscesses, officials said.
One of the patients died from this post-Covid complication and at least eight of the 14 had received steroids while being treated for the virus, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital said.
Doctors have also said that poor diet and steroid use are some of the possible reasons for pus forming in patients’ livers, according to the PTI news agency.
Meanwhile, the Burmese military has been accused of arresting several doctors who were treating Covid-19 patients for their support of anti-junta protests.
Doctors and media have said at least nine doctors, who have volunteered to provide telemedicine services, have been detained by the military, according to Reuters. It comes even as Myanmar recorded 6,000 new infections on Thursday.

Rajasthan has now said the central government did not seek information on Covid patients who died due to lack of oxygen before making the request.

It comes after the Delhi government said it had no data on oxygen starvation deaths because the Center did not let it form a committee to look into allegations of such deaths.
