Wrestling legend and 2005 WWE Hall of Fame inductee, “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff has passed away at the age of 71.
His son Travis Orndorff took to his Instagram account to confirm the news and post a touching tribute to his father, saying:

“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. He is better known as ‘Mr # 1derful’ Paul Orndorff. Most of you will remember his looks. Many will remember its intensity. But if only I could make you understand and see her heart. He will always be Pop, Paw Paw and Daddy at home. And although many of you hated him as a wrestler, he absolutely loved you for it. He was an amazing father who showed me more love than I deserved. I love you dad “

Travis would also confirm that a GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses, which you can find here.

While a cause of death has yet to be stated, Paul Orndorff was revealed to be suffering from a severe case of dementia earlier this year. His aforementioned son, Travis Orndorff, believed it was due to CTE. Her father was also named in a 2016 WWE class action lawsuit that alleged wrestlers at WWE hands suffered “long-term neurological injuries.” The case was dismissed in 2018.
