NUNO TO A TOTTENHAM TRANSFER PLAN
New Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is considering deals for midfielder Joao Palhinha and striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer, according to a report.
The Portuguese face a crucial first transfer window to help Spurs move up the Premier League rankings and fight for major silverware. Reports claimed that he was looking for a transfer of central defender, that of former Wolves colleague Conor Coady. However, other positions are also on its radar.
Spurs have had transfer links with Palhinha, Portuguese midfielder of Sporting for a few weeks.
According to The ball (Going through Sports witness), Sporting reportedly accepted an offer of € 30million (26million) ahead of the start of Euro 2020. However, Palhinha became a senior international in March and played twice in the tournament, with his fees increasing in result.
The newspaper adds that Tottenham are expected to pay “well above” their previous assessment. Moreover, Atalanta has now joined the list of suitors for the 25-year-old.
Leicester and Wolves also have an interest, as do Sevilla, Napoli and Atletico Madrid.
Elsewhere, Football London report that Spurs have opened talks to sign Fiorentina striker Vlahovic.
The Serbian is reportedly valued at £ 36million, having scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A games last season.
Speculation about Harry Kane’s future continues to swirl, and the source adds that Vlahovic could be ‘close’ to step into the England captain’s shoes if he leaves.
