LANSING, Mich. – Governor Gretchen Whitmer is expected to announce the launch of “MI Shot to Win Sweepstakes,” a new incentive program to encourage more Michiganders to get vaccinated.
An announcement is expected to be made at 9:30 a.m. on July 1 at a press conference, according to the governor’s office.
The raffle will give vaccinated residents a chance to win a combined total of over $ 5 million in cash and nine college scholarships of $ 55,000 via a raffle.
As of Wednesday, June 30, about 61% of adults in the state had received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Whitmer will join Meijer and the Michigan Association and United Way on Thursday.
