Marvel Studios is still keeping its details a secret Black Panther suite, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but we now know that another major star will be joining the cast. Variety reported this afternoon that Michaela Coel will appear in the film. Coel would have recently joined director Ryan Coogler at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, but as always with the MCU, we have no information on who she will be playing.
Coel is a great addition to the cast as she has become an actress and showrunner to watch. His Emmy nominated series I can destroy you– which Coel created, wrote, directed, produced and starred in – became one of the most discussed tv shows of 2020. She also found success with her previous series Chewing-gum, which she also created and starred in, and which gained an international fan base following its acquisition by Netflix. Between these series, Coel play in Tinge Krishnan’s adaptation of musical For so long, and portrayed a member of the Resistance in Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.
As for the rest of the Wakanda forever thrown, although they did not been confirmed, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright and Angela Bassett should back for more. After Black Panther Star Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer in 2020, the executive producer of the film Victoria Alonso has denied rumors it is digitalon Wakanda forever, saying that since “our king is dead in real life” Marvel “will take some time to see how we continue the story.” Boseman will be heard as the voice of T’Challa in Disney + ‘s upcoming MCU animated series, What if…?
As to who Coel could play in Wakanda forever, we can only speculate. But it is worth pointing out that the mutant who controls the weather Storm had a relationship with Black Panther dans les comics-maybe Coel can help to bring the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
