Mena Suvari has revealed a weird moment she had with actor Kevin Spacey on the set of the 1999 movie “American Beauty”.
The actress, 42, appeared alongside the 61-year-old actor in the Oscar-winning film over a decade ago. She recently recalled an “unusual experience” she had with the actor on set which she dismissed at the time to reconsider as potentially harmful in light of her published sexual misconduct allegations. in 2017.
Speaking to People, Suvari explained that she “trusted” the veteran actor throughout the filming of “American Beauty,” which caused her not to think twice the day he did. asked her to go to a side room with him to prepare for an intimate scene together. She explained that he made them lie on a bed “very close to each other” while he held her gently.
“It was very peaceful but strange and unusual,” she explained.

While intimate on-set exercises are not unheard of for actors, she noted that in light of Anthony Rapp’s accusations that Spacey was inappropriate with him as a minor as well as allegations from others accusers, this led her to reconsider the context of exercising it.
“My heart goes out to all who experience abuse,” she said.
Representatives for Spacey did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

In addition to Rapp, Spacey has been prosecuted for sexual misconduct. Meanwhile, Suvari revealed in her memoir, “The Great Peace,” from People this week, that she was sexually abused between the ages of 12 and 20.
“I was living a double life,” the star explained. “Every time I went to a set. Whenever I was interviewed, I played all the time. It was another role for me to play. That I was fine. “
According to the outlet, the abuse began in sixth grade when Suvari and her family moved to Charleston, South Carolina.
