Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Dalot is expected to enter at halftime, while Van de Beek will play the final half hour.
The two returned to full pre-season training this week and with minutes under their belt tonight, they will likely start against Preston at Deepdale on Saturday.
“Diogo could be at halftime, Donny probably the last half hour. Then probably start against Preston, ”Solskjaer told MUTV.
While they’re back on the bench, it’s a starting XI similar to the team that were beaten 4-2 at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. Nine of the teams that started this match also start here, with Juan Mata and Anthony Elanga for Facundo Pellistri and Daniel James.

Solskjaer wants to see his side provide an answer after their disappointing loss in West London.
“We need an answer of course, a good experience, but it’s always about minutes. Brentford is a new challenge, a Premier League team that will test our boys, ”he said.
“We’re getting closer to the league and we have to see the confidence come in and the minutes under the belt.
“Suddenly, it’s there [the start of the season], we don’t have time to waste now, we have to be sharp right away, we have the most intense game in the league in the first one, so we have to be ready. In a way, that’s a good thing because the players know they need to be in good shape. “
There will now be 30,000 fans at Old Trafford and Solskjaer is delighted to see such a large number coming back inside the floor.
“It’s great, just walking into the stadium and feeling the energy is different. Hopefully we are approaching the end of the tunnel now, ”he said.
