The incident took place shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Bexley High Street in the London Borough of Bexley. Police officers met rushed to the scene after being alerted by the London ambulance service and found a teenage girl with multiple gash wounds.
Police said his injuries would not be life threatening.
Police said no arrests had been made.
Up to 10 police cars are said to have responded to the incident, with vehicles parked in the middle of the road.
A police cordon has also been put in place around large areas of the busy street, especially near a bus stop.
The roads were closed tonight bentre Bourne Road et Parkhill Road.
A number of concerned residents have shared their concerns on social media.
A second wrote: “So a poor teenage girl was stabbed in the village of Bexley. I hope to God that she will be okay.
A third wrote: ‘Anyone know what’s going on at #Bexley tonight?
“There must be 10 police cars, an air ambulance, a closed road, etc. right in the center of the village? “
“Officers attended the scene and found a 19-year-old woman with lacerated wounds.
“At this point, you don’t think his injuries are life threatening.
“Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made. “
