Kylian Mbappe “would not guarantee Liverpool title”
Liverpool have often been mentioned as a potential contender for Kylian Mbappe this summer.
But former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has claimed securing Mbappe’s services will not guarantee the Reds the Premier League title next season.
Liverpool are highly unlikely to make a move for the France international this summer, as his € 200million price tag puts him out of action for a Paris-Anfield trade.
Michael Edwards has developed a successful transfer tactic of buying underrated players and turning them under Jurgen Klopp, so for Liverpool to go for a successful signing would be completely out of place.
However, as the PSG striker’s contract expires, the Reds have been put on high transfer alert.
Liverpool could rush in and snatch the starlet for free next summer.
The 22-year-old has announced that he wants to leave the French squad and has reportedly told his teammates he will honor the final year of his contract – and go on a free transfer next summer.
But Crouch doesn’t think the arrival of the World Cup winner would make or break Liverpool’s title campaign, despite his admiration for the player.
