Heading into a huge four-game streak with the Red Sox, the Yankees are in desperate need of momentum and good humor. A lot went well in last night’s win over the Phillies, and sweeping that two-game streak with a win today would go a long way in generating some of that mojo ahead of the trip to Fenway. To be successful, the Yankees will likely need to see something they’ve never seen before: a good pitcher from Asher Wojciechowski.

Wojciechowski, 32, looks like the Gerrit Cole you buy from Wish, and has achieved a 5.95 ERA in 198 innings in the big leagues. He’s seen a slight uptick in strikeout rate with Triple-A Scranton this season (particularly in his last outing), and although his MiLB ERA is 5.68, those strikeouts resulted in a 3.30 FIP that the Yankees are apparently confident enough to be replicated over three or four innings tonight.

DJ LeMahieu returns to his usual starting spot after being on leave last night due to stomach problems. The hot Greg Allen stays in the outfield, as does Estevan Florial, who hit his first career homer on Tuesday.
