Manager Ange Postecoglou landed the much-loved Vissel Kobe star last week, but faces a wait to start working with him.
The striker faces a period of quarantine before being allowed to meet his new teammates and could end his isolation in London before heading to Lennoxtown.
Furuhashi was filmed at Itami Airport by journalist Dan Orlowitz as he prepared to board a flight to the UK, where he is expected to undergo a medical examination before his transfer is finalized.
And the 26-year-old had some opening words for Celtic fans on his trip.
“I’m excited and I’ll do it. I want to get results. I want to grow up, ”Furuhashi told Yahoo Japan.
“Marks and assists. I’ve always wanted visible results this year, so going to Celtic doesn’t change.
“I have to establish my position on a new team so I would like to focus on that first. “
The arrival of Furuhashi has thrilled Celtic fans, not least because of his impressive record in the J-League and the fact that he can count Andres Iniesta among his admirers.
Postecoglou admits he was frustrated with the constraints the Covid-19 pandemic has placed on his transfer rebuild, time is running out as Celtic begin their Champions League qualifying campaign against Midtjylland on Tuesday night.
He said last week: “It’s not just about recruiting players, it’s how we can bring them in.
“It’s a ten day to two week process, so that’s the hard part right now, we’re not able to get people in fast enough.
“We would all take pictures and unveil it here today. Unfortunately, nothing like this happens anymore.
“We are working on several fronts.
“It’s pretty clear that we have to bring in players. It is not an easy process but we are working hard, hopefully next week. “
