KFL & A Public Health Urges People To Take Advantage Of Large COVID-19 Vaccine Supply – Kingston – .


The Kingston Health Unit says it has thousands of COVID-19 vaccines to distribute and is urging those 12 and older to get vaccinated if they haven’t already.

“Although case rates are stable in the region, strengthening community immunity is essential to avoid an increase in cases as we move to step 3 and resume indoor activities and larger group gatherings. To protect our community, as many residents as possible should be fully immunized against the virus, ”KFL & A Public Health said Monday.

According to a press release from the health unit, there are now more than 16,000 open appointments for vaccines available for ages 12 and older.

In order to get vaccines up and running as quickly as possible, the health unit has added more vaccination clinic options, including more accessible overnight clinics, walk-in hours and online reservations.

As of Monday, there were only three active cases of COVID-19 in the region.

Almost 62 percent of those aged 12 and over received two doses of the vaccine locally.
