Kevin Federline has denied all allegations that he used his children and those of Britney Spears as “pawns” for his guardianship.
According to her lawyer, the singer did not conspire with Spears’ father or his management team to keep her in guardianship against her will.
“Kevin was not involved in the guardianship, and he was not an agent of the Curator or anyone on that side of the probate case,” said attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.
“From the start Kevin had a goal and that was to make it more likely, as soon as possible, that he and Britney could have a successful co-parenting relationship involving the children. “
He added: “What he did he did because he felt he had to do it for the health and well-being of the children. Kevin never threatened anything in this regard.
“Kevin never used his kids as pawns for anything. Kevin has always acted by putting children first, ”Kaplan insisted.
According to leaked documents, Kevin was a “necessary party” during the 2008 response after his public blackout.
“Kevin was invited to this call because he was going to be involved in the planning – I’m sorry, the execution, should I say, of this intervention. It was a necessary party. No legal issue was discussed. There was nothing – nothing to it – nothing in that order. Only discussion of the execution of the intervention.
