Kay Sent Down – .

The Blue Jays have made a few changes since leaving tonight:

  • Anthony Kay has been reinstated in the Bisons (I can’t wait to say sent back to Buffalo). Someone will be called in to take his place before tomorrow’s game.
  • Alejandro Kirk is activated from the 60-day IL and is offered as an option at Bisons.
  • To create a list of 40 players for Kirk, TJ Zeuch was DFAed.

I hope Kirk will transfer to the major league squad soon. I know McGuire had a hot streak when he first arrived at the club, but it’s over. Kirk has a chance to be with the team in the future. Let’s see what we have. And then Moreno could move on to Triple-A.

Current 2021 Toronto Blue Jays course map

I’m sure you know that, but tonight’s Jays game will be dialed on August 7 at 3:00 p.m., the first of a double day / night schedule.

Minor Leaguer tells me it will be the fourth doubles program in Rogers Center history (1989 vs. California, 2001 vs. Cleveland, 2018 vs. KC).

The very first SkyDome / Rogers Center dual program was also caused by rain at another location. On May 7, 1989, the Angels-Blue Jays match at Exhibition Stadium fell in the rain; however, the Angels did not return to Toronto until June 17, after the Jays moved into their new home.

This will be the first split double show in SkyDome / Rogers Center history.
