Kasper Schmeichel had a shiny laser pen on his face as Harry Kane stepped up the penalty for England – .

ITV showed footage of a flashing green laser on Schmeichel’s face as he prepared to face Kane’s penalty in overtime at Wembley on Wednesday night.

The goalkeeper didn’t appear to be aware of the distraction attempt and saved the penalty before Kane hid the rebound to score what would be the winning goal.

ITV presenter Mark Chapman condemned the unknown author.
He said: “One thing we spotted just as Harry Kane took the penalty that is completely unacceptable and ridiculous… look, someone has a laser pen in the stands.
“Whoever they are, they’re an idiot, him or her, and we can just hope that didn’t deter Kasper Schmeichel because it’s stupid and he doesn’t deserve it.”
“That kind of thing, nobody wants to see it. “
New controversy surrounded the penalty – which ultimately sent England into their first final since 1966 –
Raheem Sterling was accused of diving to win the free kick, which came in the first half of extra time.
There was also a second ball on the field when Sterling received the ball at the start of the movement.
The referees normally stop play in accordance with the laws of the game if there are two balls on the playing court.
They can use their discretion and ignore it if the ball does not interfere with play, but on this occasion the stray ball was in close proximity to Sterling and the Danish defenders and could presumably be viewed as a distraction.
