How many members of the WallStreetBets community consider GameStop, AMC, and Clover Health to be “completely different games” – AMC Entertainment Holdings (AMC), Gamestop Corp. (GME)

An article on Reddit’s r / WallStreetBets forum that supported GameStop Corp. (NYSE : GME), AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. (NYSE: AMC) et Clover Health Investments Corp. (NASDAQ: CLOV) are three “completely different coins” that have found extreme popularity.

What happened: A user with the alias u / ShortChecker on the WSB forum – which has 10.6 million members and is known for its shortcuts – noted that video game retailer GameStop became a favorite with retail investors in late December / early January of this year because it had an unprecedented overdraft interest rate of 140%.

GameStop is still the game to this day as the remaining short sellers, around 15% to 20%, who still hold their positions are the same from the start who have racked up billions in losses, according to the post.

The post added that movie theater chain AMC Entertainment is still a very big play as the company has pivoted to rebuild its business model to become a success once the pandemic is over.

Medical insurance tech company Clover Health has been “ridiculously bypassed” since its IPO and it has nothing to do with GameStop or AMC Entertainment, according to the post. The companies that bypassed Clover Health are not the same companies that bypassed GameStop and AMC Entertainment, the post noted.

Why is this important: The post called WallStreetBets a “casino” and said there was a place for supporters of actions beyond GameStop and AMC to participate in the discussions. “These are not the same room, stop comparing the [three,] U / ShortCheker said in the post which had over 10,300 upvotes at the time of publication.

The post drew around 1,500 comments, with several users on the forum agreeing that they were planning to buy more shares in the three companies.

Clover Health has more interest than the other two favorites of Reddit GameStop and AMC Entertainment on the WSB forum. The company is the shortest stock – attracting short interest of 36.7%, according to High Short Interest Stocks, a website that tracks stocks with over 20% short interest.

Price action: GameStop shares closed 1.6% lower in Tuesday’s trading session at $ 199.56, while AMC Entertainment shares closed nearly 3.9% lower at $ 49.96. .

Clover Health shares closed 14.6% lower in Tuesday’s trading session at $ 10.00.
