The Reds winger only joined his teammates earlier this week, but was left out of the squad that beat Mainz 1-0 on Friday night.
The omission was made with the move to Fulham in mind and Wilson has now flown from the club’s base near Salzburg to wrap up a move to the Cottagers ahead of the new season.
It is understood that Liverpool are looking to earn £ 12million for a winger who has only made two senior appearances at the club.
Wilson, who has been on the Liverpool books since the age of nine, has been on loan five times and spent last season with Cardiff City in the league.
The 24-year-old was set to move to Burnley last summer before negotiations between the clubs broke down but now appears ready for west London.
It is understood the deal will likely be confirmed within the next 48 hours as the Reds continue to offload several of their fringe players.
The deal will be the third sale this week after the departures of Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi, who moved to Porto and Union Berlin for £ 10.5million and £ 6.5million, respectively.
The sale will take Liverpool’s profit on spending to around £ 30million as the club try to balance the books before they dive into the market.

Liam Millar’s £ 1.3million move to Basel and Kamil Grabara’s move to FC Copenhagen take overall revenue to £ 33.3million with players like Neco Williams and Nat Phillips also sparking the interest.
Wilson made his Liverpool debut under Jurgen Klopp in January 2017 in an FA Cup match against Plymouth before making his final appearance for the Reds in a League Cup loss to Arsenal on October 1 of the last year.
