MONTREAL – Singer-songwriter and international idol Harry Styles has canceled his upcoming concert in Montreal.

The October 10 show at the Bell Center was part of Styles’ “LOVE ON TOUR” trip, which had previously been postponed due to concerns over COVID-19.

Originally slated to cover North America and Europe, the singer announced Wednesday that shows will be limited to the United States.

“As always, the well-being of my fans, my band and my team is my top priority,” Styles wrote on social media.

“Safety guidelines will be available on the respective websites of the sites to ensure that we can all be together safely. “

Styles apologized to the fans – at least some of them.

“To everyone in the UK and around the world, I can’t wait to see you again, but for obvious reasons it’s just not possible at the moment. “

Although Styles had nothing to say directly to his Canadian fans, he offered a few hopeful words.

“I love you all so much. I’m very excited and can’t wait to see you, ”the popstar wrote.

CTV News reached out to ticket seller Evenko for more details on the exact reasons the Canadian dates were canceled, but did not immediately receive a response.

Toronto shows already scheduled are also not appearing on the updated schedule, while some US dates have also changed.

Some ticket holders expressed their frustrations on social media after the announcement.

“It’s so sad,” one person wrote. “I have tickets for my 14 year old daughter in Toronto… She canceled so much. “

“WTF are we supposed to do with our flights and hotels now,” another person wrote. “Our gig was a month away, so we planned it, and (now) it’s moved to November. “

For those planning to make the trip south to see Styles in concert, the Canadian government maintains its recommendation to avoid non-essential trips outside the country.
