Locals lined up around Stonehaven Pier last night to watch the struggles of the glowing green engine mired in the sand.
The car, with a massive spoiler, was unable to move over the soft sands of Aberdeenshire, drawing laughter from locals.
In a viral clip shared online, the desperate driver can be seen enlisting the help of the driver of a four-by-four who attaches pulleys to the rear of the supercar.
The black alloy wheels are sunk deep into the sand in the clip, as the ropes are attached.
Screams of disbelief can be heard from locals in the background as one asks “is that a f ****** stuck in the sand?” “.
In the video, the person filming calls the driver a “toonser” – someone from Aberdeen rather than the surrounding county.
The driver slams his heels to get rid of the sand from his shoes before getting into his flash car.
But a four-by-four attempt by the driver to try to free the vehicle failed, prompting more laughter from the gathered crowd.
Another attempt is made but again to no avail as the car stubbornly gets stuck in the sand.
To add to the hilarity, another man jumps off the pier and tries to push the engine forward, but falls prone during the attempt, eliciting more laughter from the gathered crowd.
Cars eventually find a hold on the beach and are able to back up onto the solid jetty.
The video has now gone viral with over 23,000 views.
The residents of Stonehaven scoffed at the situation online.
One wrote: “I love the way he cleans the sand off his shoes before getting back in the car, I think that might be the least of his problems. “
Another added: “If he doesn’t hurry, it’ll be a yellow submarine!”
A third wrote: “The only thing missing from this video was the background music from Benny Hill. The guy pushing the car falling flat on his coupon was pretty funny. “
