The 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan haven’t even started and yet Team USA’s basketball is hot from the start of the exhibition match. Chances are, things will be settled before their opener against France at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday, July 25. Still, it creates a veil of doubt surrounding the favorite to win the gold despite a completely stacked roster. The United States basketball team will be sending superstars Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal and Jayson Tatum to Tokyo to compete (and these are just a few of the All-Star names playing).
The United States will open the tournament against France, which has a large number of NBA players. France are anchored by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert at the bottom. The French also have SG Evan Fournier, F Nicolas Batum, G / F Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and PG Frank Ntilikina. So while the United States still have an overwhelming advantage on their roster, France will not be an easy exit, especially after seeing the American team’s performance in the exhibition game.
Regardless, DraftKings Sportsbook has released odds for the first game between Team USA and France. We will take a look.
