Friday July 9 Recap – Finn and Liz Peter Corpse’s New Problem – Carly Throws Jason Love in Britt’s Face – .

The Friday July 9 General Hospital (GH) spoiler recap reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) cast her forever love Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in the face of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) also found themselves dealing with a new Peter August (Wes Ramsey) corpse issue, so here’s how it all turned out.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) wondered why she shouldn’t just kick Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) for all the ELQ drama.

However, Valentin noted that it would be a shame if “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) had to be transferred from co-parent to co-parent. He was grateful that Monica let him stay.

Afterward, Carly convinced Jason to break the news of Monica’s engagement to GH himself.

Monica was surprised to learn that Jason and Carly were getting married, but she understood their dedication and only wanted Jason to be happy.

Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) approached Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) in hopes of gaining her support for the chief of staff position.

Britt walked around and taunted Terry about turning this into a popularity contest, but Terry criticized Britt for wondering why she is so unpopular.

Once Britt left, Terry admitted that she took the low road. Portia wanted Terry to be sure he understood what she was getting into with this job.

It would mean less patient relations and more paperwork, but Terry believed she could make a real difference and bring about much-needed change.

Together with Liz and Finn, they brainstormed a plan to move Peter’s body before the security workarounds Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) put in place disappeared.

Monica overheard part of their discussion and insisted that there was no need to worry since the security cameras were all working again.

In the office of Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry), she warned that Judge Carson (Anita Finley) might not fall – even with the incriminating recording.

Jordan suggested she might try to protect Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos), but Molly knew Jordan had better luck with more details.

Molly was ready to be involved, even if she was fired from the DA’s office or simply became unpopular there. In Pentonville, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) panicked at the idea of returning to solitary confinement.

There was a fight that caused Alexis to injure his wrist, so Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) rose up against the guard and ranted about Alexis’ osteoporosis.

Jordan arrived just before things got out of hand between Shawn and the guard.

Jordan was there to place Shawn and Alexis in preventive custody, so she assured Alexis that she wouldn’t have to go back to segregation and would be safe.

Soon after, Alexis reunited with Molly and hugged her daughter in Jordan’s office.

Shawn and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) also came together for an emotional hug.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) also lashed out at Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) for warning Portia against him. Stella wasn’t happy to hear about the kiss Curtis and Portia shared.

Stella still wished Curtis and Jordan would reunite, but Curtis insisted her marriage was over.

Despite this, Stella pointed out that Portia has made her own mistakes in the past.

Back at the Quartermaine mansion, Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) could tell that Valentine was distracted during their meeting on business matters.

Martin had a hunch that it was Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), but Valentin was not interested in discussing his personal issues with Martin.

Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was confused when she met Austin (Roger Howarth), who rushed to the hospital for a job interview.

Britt found it odd that Austin wanted to bail out his private practice in Pautauk and take a job at Port Charles, but Austin was hired anyway.

Back with Maxie, she thought Anna seemed suspicious of Austin.

Maxie was sure Austin had nothing to do with Louise’s kidnapping, but Anna admitted that she found out Austin had the same last name as someone she knew.

Anna had a flashback when she recognized Austin’s father in this photo and seemed intrigued.

Maxie asked Anna for more details on the nature of her relationship with Valentine, but Anna insisted they were sticking to the friendship.

Anna considered not deserving happiness, but Maxie disagreed and offered her forgiveness as she realized that sometimes you can keep secrets for good reasons.

Later, Maxie found out Austin had been employed at the hospital – and Anna was surprised to see Valentine when the elevator doors opened at Metro Court.

Back with Carly, she had a nasty confrontation with Britt in GH.

Carly lied that it was too early to reunite with Jason after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) died, but they just couldn’t help themselves once Jason returned from his escape.

Britt laughed at Carly like she just had an affair with Jason and didn’t believe it.

Carly insisted that what Britt had with Jason was fleeting, but what Carly had with him was forever.

When Jason joined Carly, Britt told them both to “go to hell” and rushed off. Jason glared at Carly and wondered what she had just done, so another fierce showdown is brewing!

General Hospital spoilers say there’s a lot more excitement to come to Port Charles.
