FFrance, Italy and a host of other countries are expected to join the UK’s green list for British holidaymakers this month, according to a travel expert.
As Covid cases stabilize in European countries, they are likely to open up to sun-hungry Britons ahead of the summer break.
In addition to the two hotspots that other countries should join: Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Norway, Vietnam, Denmark, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Taiwan and Azerbaijan.
But former British Airways chief strategy officer Robert Boyle says he has cracked the code behind the UK government’s traffic light decisions.
“There doesn’t appear to be anything in the data that the government says it is using that explains why they are languishing on the Amber List at this point,” Boyle said in The Telegraph.
“I’m sure the answer is political in some way, but there doesn’t even seem to be any obvious political logic as to why two seemingly similar countries are ranked differently. “

Mr Boyle said the 22 should be added during the next authorities’ review of the traffic light system, which is expected to take place in mid-July.
The government will announce this month exactly when double-bitten travelers will be allowed to return to the UK from Orange List countries without quarantine, Boris Johnson said Thursday.
But Transportation Secretary Grant Shapps confirmed Thursday that the decision was overturned.
